LONDON — More than two years after the Olympic Games were held here, dozens of impossibly accomplished and finely-tuned bodies were back in town Tuesday for the full-contact sport of underwear strutting.

For the first time, Victoria’s Secret brought its annual flagship lingerie show from New York to London’s Earls Court. Despite the Anglo setting, this was not a prim and proper affair.

The show that’s regularly hailed as the sexiest on earth saw the sculpted physiques of more than 40 models (known as Angels) sashay down the catwalk. The strides were of the long, bounding, gazelle-like variety as the Angels navigated more than 100 feet of glittery runway.

The event will appear on CBS Dec. 9 at 10 p.m. ET. The show’s themes were diverse. Chicagoan Karlie Kloss and Namibia’s Behati Prinsloo (married to Maroon 5 frontman, Adam Levine) opened things up in the Gilded Angels category; Brazil’s Adriana Lima and Alessandro Ambrosio formed part of the Exotic Traveler display and Sweden’s Elsa Hosk and Canadian Grace Mahary took part in the University of Pink.

For the second year running, Taylor Swift performed. She got an assist from Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande and Hozier.

Earlier, backstage, Brazilians Lima and Ambrosio, both veteran Angels at 33, donned the bejeweled “Fantasy Bra” — a $2 million sapphire, ruby and diamond set that, though comprised of 16,000 gems, was still cheaper than the $10 million bra Candice Swanepoel, 26, wore last year.

1. Taylor Swift once again pleased the crowds with a rousing rendition of Style, but it was little Ariana Grande whose energy and dancers quite possibly stole the show.

2. It was held in London. Say no more.

3. Wings. Lots of wings. There were 39 pairs created for the catwalk alone. The golden wings worn by Karlie Kloss in the Gilded Angels segment are made of 18k gold.

4. The dark and moody ballads from Ireland’s Hozier.

5. Did we mention it was in London?

6. British model Lily Donaldson in the Fairy Tale segment played to the home crowd and had a fairy tale number of crystals sewn into an item called The Swarovski Look: More than 150,000 of the shiny things.

7. There was a surprisingly affecting dance routine by three male dancers about halfway through the show. Very nimble fellas.

8. Twenty-five makeup artists, 25 hair stylists and 9 manicurists. They weren’t on stage but their presence was palpable nonetheless.

9. It was fun for the Angels. Or it looked that way anyway. There was a lot of throwing the hands in the air like they didn’t care, winks, nods, little stolen Angel-to-Angel glances. On a few occasions, several of them appeared to exchange gentle butt slaps with Taylor Swift.
